Objective To protect the rights of the Scheduled Caste communities in accordance with constitutional safeguards provided to them. To formulate plans, policies and schemes for the overall development of the Scheduled Caste communities. To ensure accelerated development in S.C. dominated areas by way of augmenting funds and its judicious applications based on needs of the SC communities .To function as a nodal department in coordinating and monitoring of Programmes of SC welfare especially in SC dominated districts. To implement educational and economic development programmes along with various support schemes for maximizing the benefits in favour of the SC communities.
